Kevin Cash guided the Tampa Bay Rays to the 2026 World Series after a 7–3 victory over the Cleveland Guardians in Game 6 of the American League Championship Series on October 19, 2026. Playing at Tropicana Field in St. Petersburg, Tampa Bay clinched the pennant behind two-run home runs from Yandy Díaz and Junior Caminero and a strong pitching performance from Freddy Peralta who earned Championship Series MVP honors.
The victory marked Tampa Bay’s third World Series appearance, following trips in 2008 and 2020. Cash had also managed the Rays during their 2020 championship-series appearance when they ultimately fell to the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The 2026 matchup brought Tampa Bay against the Milwaukee Brewers with Game 1 scheduled for October 23 at American Family Field in Milwaukee.
